JISTE is an official, Peer-Reviewed publication of the International Society for Teacher Education (ISfTE), a non-profit organization. The journal is published biannually. Using the ISfTE Annual Seminar theme, articles in the first issue of each volume are normally based on papers presented at the previous ISfTE Seminar. Articles in the second issue are normally non-thematic or have special themes. Points of view and opinions are those of the individual authors and are not necessarily those of ISfTE. Published manuscripts are the property of JISTE. Permission to reproduce must be requested from the editor.
Background of JISTE
JISTE was launched in 1997 with an annual publication schedule. However, due to its rapid growth and increasing demand, it transitioned to a biannual publication. Starting in 2009, JISTE has consistently published two issues per year, one in the summer and another in the winter.
Open Access
JISTE is an open-access journal. In 2022, JISTE transitioned to an Open Access model on an online platform. All issues since 1997 are publicly accessible. All archived issues (Issues 1.1-25.1) are publicly available on the ISfTE website
